Susan Alberti AO attending the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute centenary launch
The 100th birthday of the Walter and Eliza Hall institute launched with a bang. The event unveiled a six-storey high LED curtain, known as the 'Illuminarium'. The Prime Minister of Australia was a key speaker on the night.
Invitations and programs for the night were inspired by the new artwork. An ink illustration on the front promises a glittery night with a little bit of mystery. A speciality metallic paper stock added extra sheen to the imagery.
The program opens to a celebration of colour. The image inside was created as part of scientific investigations at the institute. The 'Illuminarium' captures this 'hidden' life within our body, by featuring the institute’s latest scientific images and biomedical animations.
A keepsake for this historic event, the program presents key discoveries by the institute. Chronological but dynamic in design, the layout lends itself to quick browsing or deeper inspection. This discovery timeline has since successfully engaged audiences at other institute events.
